Hristo Shopov is a Bulgarian actor, best known for his role as Pontius Pilate in the 2004 film "The Passion of the Christ". He was born on January 4, 1964, in Sofia, Bulgaria. Shopov graduated from the National Academy for Theatre and Film Arts in 1987. He has appeared in numerous Bulgarian and international films and TV shows, including "The Way Back", "The Expendables 2", and "Vikings". In addition to acting, Shopov is also a writer, director, and producer. He has received numerous awards for his work in the entertainment industry, including Best Actor at the Moscow International Film Festival in 2000.
